Etzel Cardeña PhD
He is the Thorsen Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Research on Consciousness and Anomalous Psychology (CERCAP) at Lund University (Sweden). He is the founding Editor of the Journal of Anomalous Experience and Cognition. He has authored approximately 400 publications, many appearing in leading psychology journals and other related fields. His work has been featured by various media outlets, including The New York Times, The New Yorker, and the BBC. His expertise spans the psychology of anomalous experiences and non-ordinary mental expressions, including psi phenomena, as well as the neurophenomenology of hypnosis, meditation, and dissociation.

He earned a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from York University in Toronto (Canada), followed by a second MA and a PhD in Personality Psychology from the University of California, Davis (USA). He later served as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Scholar at Stanford University (USA).

He has held several prominent leadership positions, including serving as President of the Society of Psychological Hypnosis from 2000 to 2001, the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis from 2001 to 2003, and the Parapsychological Association from 2008 to 2009. Additionally, he was the Editor of the Journal of Parapsychology from 2017 to 2020, and previously acted as the founding Editor of Mindfield: The Bulletin of the Parapsychological Association from 2009 to 2017.
